Complexity

KISS — Keep It Simple, Stupid

Hardware and software companies … in particular Apple and Google …  are compelled to keep adding features to their already-complex products to the point where even the simple things are masked in mystery. This seems driven by a misguided attempt to capture and then upgrade customers.

At some point these technologies are going to be so top-heavy with features, that they will be crushed by their own weight.

(I actually feel that they have already passed this point … and their products resemble Gordian Knots that need severing.)

Afterward: Apple has made things so complex that they have to create “geniuses” as guides through the feature jungle that they have created. (I hate to think that this is on purpose? Steve Jobs would be spinning in his grave.)

STAND UP TO COMPLEXIITY!
