The only way that pterodactyls could have gotten airborne back in their day was if our atmosphere was much denser or our gravity was much weaker … or both. — Fletcher
Afterthought: If our atmosphere were denser a few hundred million years ago, this would mean we have been losing it into space. However, if our gravity has been getting stronger, this would help us hold onto what we have left.
