Given incomplete information, people tend to prefer the benign explanation for a malign event (presidential election mischief)… and will then hold onto this opinion well past contradictory evidence.

And, curiously, the exact opposite is also true … a malign explanation for a benign event (January 6th Capitol invasion) is often preferred even in the light of negating information.

Why the strange disconnect? Does this have something to do with what motivates these opinions … is there self-interest involved … particularly by the primary proponents?

If the scientific consensus isn’t fudging the data again … and sea levels are rising at the rate of one foot per century (see: Ocean Level Study) … then it would seem that building a one-foot sea wall where needed would carry us until 2121 … or two feet, until 2221 … or even a yardstick-high one until 2321! (If we’re not all on Mars by then)!  This would be a whole lot cheaper than the Green New Deal … trillion$ cheaper!

 A China expert was on the Tucker Carlson show the other night talking about this Dong fellow … see:  This Could Be Huge!  He made these salient points:

- China claims Dong is still in China … but would obviously parade him out if he were. They haven’t.

- The recent 180 degree turn in the Biden administration about  the Wuhan lab was likely the result of what Dong has revealed to them.

- Outside of China, the consensus is that it was n accidental  lab leak. Inside of China, public opinion is that it was purposeful.

People who voted for Joe Biden for president have been put in an awkward position of defending a man who is seldom governing in their best interest. 

This creates an obvious conflict within … between their emotions and their logic. No wonder those in whom their emotions prevail are looking to unload their angst on those of us who used our logic and favored the other guy …  who was governing in our best interest. 

That is why otherwise-impressive Biden supporters often come off as embarrassingly silly in their defense of the indefensible.

President Biden has just added the 12th national holiday to our calendar, June 19 … called “Juneteenth” … cute … the day in 1865 that black slaves in Texas found out that Abraham Lincoln had freed them 2 1/2 years earlier by signing the Emancipation Proclamation.

Now, I am a little puzzled  … why is this a holiday and not honoring January 1, 1863, the day the actual emancipation occurred?

Isn’t this a little anticlimactic … like celebrating the day that the last Japanese soldier came out of the caves on Okinawa ten years after the war officially ended on August 15, 1945? (vJ Day is now only celebrated in Rhode Island.)

To me, it seems so off the mark … or is this just a way of disrespecting Lincoln?
