Family Shopping

(a rhyming poem)

With the hours spent waiting for my wife,
I could've added two more years to my life.

I see you old man
sitting on the bench
with the other men
waiting for her to finish

Sitting with a smirk,
among the silent tombstones
glad to be sequestered
from incessent chatter.

The young clerk catches your eye.
She seems to know your thoughts
she smiles at the thought of you
stroking her tea colored thigh.

An old urge begins to rise
like a warm wave...
An elbow awakens you from your nap
Hey buddy he says, you were snoring
