Well over 30 years ado while taking a group tour of Napa Valley, we stopped in at the award-winning Grgich Hills winery. Luckily old man Grgich was there and stopped to talk to us. We asked what was his secret for making great wine, he replied, “Don’t keep things too clean.”
Many years later, when traveling in Croatia, I learned Miljenko Grgich had returned to his native land … and surprisingly was still alive at 95. He obviously can’t still be so. RIP.
