The image was about reading print and cursive. Not writing. Still, it is shame that cursive is not taught in first grade. More concerning is that so many subjects seem obsolete: music, shop, home economics, foreign languages. It's not unpatriotic for your grandchildren to learn French, Spanish, or Chinese.
