Liar?

Trump haters have one consistent mantra, “He lies, then lies about his lies.” They even document and count up these falsehoods into the tens of thousands. Pathological maybe?

How come, given this tidal wave of mendacity, I can’t recall a single “you can keep your doctor” moment? In a recent presser, Trump claimed that the mortality rate of the seasonal flu was “point zero one percent” (0.01%). Actually, the number is 0.1%. Was that a lie? Obviously not even though I strongly suspect it is number 16,743 on the Washington Post tally, I’m also reasonably sure that Trump knows the real facts about seasonal flu mortality. He just misstated things.

When Trump addresses the American people, he elides the facts, he blusters, he quotes disputed data, he makes mistakes, he even zings his enemies  ... but I have yet to detect downright malicious lies by the Orangeman.

If you have, dear reader, please cull through Washington Post’s compendium of Trump falsehoods and relate back to us one of his super duper whoppers.

Here's one. "There are 15 cases of Covid19 in the USA and that number is going down. Soon it will be Zero." That was only a few days ago. Now the number is in the 100s of thousands. No need to say more. Believe what you will.

Here another one from March 6; “Anybody that needs a test, gets a test. We—they’re there. They have the tests. And the tests are beautiful.”

You want more; Originally "almost all models predicted" Dorian would hit Alabama.

"The noise (from windmills) causes cancer."

Says the 2018 defense authorization bill includes raises for the military "for the first time in 10 years."

"In many places, like California, the same person votes many times. You probably heard about that. They always like to say 'oh that's a conspiracy theory.' Not a conspiracy theory, folks. Millions and millions of people."

I could go on and on....but you can google it yourselves.

These are mostly trivial ... and inconsequential. Models originally had Dorian crossing Florida and hitting the gulf states. I won’t answer them all but I suggest you research them yourself. Coronavirus tests, because they were at first scarce, required screening by a doctor first (needed ... not wanted). Don’t use Snopes ... Snopes is for dopes. There was at least one study indicating that the noise coming from wind turbines causes health problems. Would you want to live near one? And if you don’t believe that many college students vote at home and at school, you are a liar.

Give us a whopper ...

You imply that “you can keep your doctor” was an intentional lie. Obama was sincere in hoping that the final ACA draft would reflect that intent. This has been a false GOP meme for years.

It is clear that you would poo-poo any of Trump's lies as "Mostly inconsequential" so I wont bother list them. But the cumulative effect of his constant lies and misspeaking is: we cannot believe anything he says.

BTW, Funny, you believe "one" study that turbines cause health problems, Yet you are skeptical about any studies that do not conform to your politics.

There is no evidence that college students voting in two places is a thing. Now who is the liar?

I sincerely doubt Trump said that there were only 15 cases ... only a few days ago. How about January or early Feb.? Are you guilty of what you are accusing the Orangeman of?

George W. Potts said...

DEN, why are your baseless pronouncements any more believable than mine ... or Trump’s? Because you say it, doesn’t make it so. Particularly since you refuse to inspect both sides ... and Snopes is for dopes.

I won’t have time to play golf.

George W. Potts said...

Another “whopper!” Although I doubt if has played one round in the last month.

George W. Potts said...

Do you commenters not know the difference between “I didn’t take that cookie” and “I didn’t kill my sister”?

ChillFin said...

No.

DEN said...

Yes. There is a dead body in the other room with your knife in it and you keep saying, "I didn't take that cookie."

Obama saying that you could keep your doctor was his intent but the evolution of the Obamacare laws was not directly in his control.
Trump saying the he would not have time to play golf was entirely up to Trump who repeatedly did have time at great cost to taxpayers.

George W. Potts said...

Balderdash! You have let your conclusion guide your logic. Trump comments about golfing were meaningless. Obama knew he was pilling the wool over American eyes ... all for the sake of socialistic ideology. If Gruber knew it was a scam, Obama knew.
