Abuse of Power

There have been very few periods in recent American history when the party in power has not grievously abused that power. ... FDR, LBJ, RMN, WJC, GWB, BHO.  At the moment, likely because he has been distracted by his attempts to reverse the previous administration’s carry-over despotism, we are enjoying a relative autocratic lull. The real measure of his presidency will be how well Trump behaves once he has effectively drained the swamp that has been, until now, tirelessly working to take him down.

He’s an authoritarian populist, not a conservative. He advances regressive social policy while proposing to expand federal spending and federalist authority over states, both of which conservatives are supposed to hate.

You fancy that DJT is not a despot?
Are unbridled executive power and attacks on institutions that would constrain him not qualifiers? Or is he skipping right over depot and going directly for dictator? He is the Chosen One!

In other words ... the Deep State rules ... not the Orangeman?

A federalist? Overthrowing Roe v. Wade would throw it to the states. He is also proposing letting the states take over Medicare. This is not federalism.

Medicaid not Medicare.

The states already run Medicaid. In Mass it's called Mass Health.

Trump is talking about block granting the funds to the states so that they can manage everything.
