Back to Basics

What does Make America Great Again mean? To me, this means for America to restore itself and get back to basics ... those elements that allowed us to breath free air and exhale free speech. I think most Americans would love to have the following restored to our shores:

- Teaching our children the three-Rs instead of political pap

- Not living beyond our means

- Restoring the family as the bedrock of our society

- Re-establishing morality ... best through religions

- Producing essential goods inside of our country

- Revering our proud heritage and history

- Reaching out to help other nations in need

- Working hard and being productive

- Restoring our beautiful infrastructure

- Standing up for freedom as a model to the world

- Being patriotic and loving our country

- Being positive ... and not being frozen with fear

STAND UP FOR AMERICA!

What MAGA really means: Nostalgia for the days when privileged white men ran things.

- Bring back Ozzie and Harriet
- let the Cats out
- Revoke all equality focused laws
- Bring back the Draft (for working class sons.)
- No co-ed Ivy league schools
- Outlaw rap music
- Restore secretaries with pointy tits
- etc.

One generally unreported white privilege is for white men to be able to call themselves “privileged.”

- Unions provided security and a voice in their industry
- High-earners paid 75% income tax or more
- Capital gains were regular income
- People who did not pay any taxes weren't smart, they were not paying their fair share
- Military-industrial expansion was decried by the president
- Veterans were honored but did not need constant praise for their service
- Commentary was filtered and edited, and to anonymously self-publish had little reach
- Telephones were shared, and fixed to a landline cord.
- Citizens were not so likely to be trying for big lawsuit wins.
- Medicine and health insurance were not high-profit business models

I'd put that at about 1961
