Energy Legacy Project

I have a simple request. Of the billions we spend every year on research. .. could someone or ones figure our how much of our sun’s energy had been captured by the Earth’s plant life over the 700 million years of our benign existence… our “energy legacy” … allowing for ice ages and warm periods … and likely stored as hydrocarbons somewhere underground?

Next calculate how much hydrocarbon energy we are currently using per person over the world. Then, using various demographic projections … including decreases … and various hydrocarbon recovery projections … come up with a rational notion of what the world’s energy future might look like. Is it 50 years … 500 years … or even 5,000 years? This research should also include analysis focused on how we keep feeding our plants with carbon dioxide.

All this research should express clear confidence intervals and intense peer review.

I suspect such real research of this nature … stripped of all the political bullshit might paint a much rosier picture of our future than currently exists at the World Economic Forum. After all, 700 million years is almost an unimaginative long period to be socking away our energy legacy!

STAND UP FOR REAL SCIENCE!
