Bear baiting

I read this morning that Special Counsel Jack Smith might be going to hold Trump without bail when he surrenders on his new indictment tomorrow. Wow!, Would this be ten bridges too far … and likely engender an outrage in the GOP … and hopefully much of the rest of the country?

Is there a sinister force that might be behind such a baiting of MAGAs? One could easily argue that the January 6 Capitol invasion was a similar planned enticement … and quite a successful one at that. Is the Deep State’s uncontrolled hatred of Trump so irrational that they would try this trick again?

All I can say is the nervous look of Jack Smith’s face when he announced Trump’s indictment last night suggests to me that something nefarious is afoot.

I sure hope my spider senses are wrong …

Afterward: Jack Smith’s mien last night might be better described as “the cat that swallowed the canary.”
