If a person has unlawfully used campaign funds to silence an embarrassing accuser, should they be brought to justice? Is it just for someone to steal private information from a person's hard drive and publish it?
The problem with your definition is that people cannot separate facts from alternative facts. And logic can be a tool of Sophistry.
