Washington State has banned gasoline-powered leaf blowers to stop global warming. This is a victory of silly symbolism over common sense. It’s like prohibiting pine-scented candles to save the redwoods.

Ah, George. you have narrow vision. it will cut down on ambient noise and combined with reduced cow flatus put us on the road to recovery!
One flight of Bill Gates’ private jet would obviate both supposed benefits … except the noise. If the noise is the real reason, why not say so?
