Killing Fields

How come, since there have been six mass shootings in the last few weeks, has there not been any hair-on-fire gun-control rantings by the Left? Here is a listing of these killing fields ... tap on a few of these hyperlinks:

3 shot dead at Oklahoma Walmart

Fresno shooting leaves 4 dead

5 dead including 3 children in San Diego shooting

LA high school shooting leaves 3 dead

California Airbandb shooting leaves 5 dead

2 dead, 12 injured at Texas homecoming party

Is it because the media is distracted with Trump’s impeachment inquiry hearings?

Maybe because California, with the most stringent gun control laws in the country, represents two-thirds of these killing fields?

Or maybe because none of these massacres involved scary-looking assault rifles?

Last possibility: the Left laments these shootings only when they offer political advantage?

Very strange ...

Thanks for reminding us that the hysteria is not about guns, it's about mass killing weapons. The majority of citizens in US are not against possession of reasonable weapons for defense or for sport. This is part of why Beto had to drop-out.

So ... it is only if a bunch of kids are killed with an AR-15 that the gun grabbers can conger up some hysteria? Is that what you are saying?

I'm saying that the "Gun Grabbers" (peeps who want to ban ALL guns) are not the majority of those who support an assault weapons ban.

Reasonable people agree that AR-15 style weapons are mass killing machines (like grenades and bazookas), and are not practical for self-defense or sport.

The sad point of your original post is that domestic and gang shootings are so frequent that they seem hardly newsworthy these days. Perhaps the lack of coverage/outrage is an acknowledgement of futility, since the current Senate leader refuses to allow a vote on any gun legislation.

But this futility is only overridden when political hay can be harvested ... I.e., ginning up an attempt to grab the guns. All the above murders were done with handguns. Are they not weapons of war too? And do we only need to mourn children killed with AK-47s and AR-15s? Maybe why the mass shootings mentioned were ignored?
