Germany has been moving its physical gold out of New York and Paris ... and back to Frankfurt. They have been engaged in this process since 2013 and have so far repatriated about one half of its stash ... about 583 tons ... curious? See: CNBC Story. Yes, words have consequences, but actions have even more consequences. Read the speculations in the CNBC story above or conjure up your own guesses ... but whatever the real reason, it surely must be consequential.

Better question: How did a thousand tons (3.2 million ounces!) of German gold come to be stored in Paris and New York?
I don't know about Paris, but many countries store their gold at the Federal Reserve Bank in NYC for convenience sake ... and have been doing so for at least 60 years.
Funny you are not curious about dysfunction in the so-called government.
I am not just curious, I am disturbed that Obama legacies would be working against Trump's purposes ... as indicated in previous posts.
...but not disturbed that the guy you elected demonstrates to the World every day that he is not fit to be POTUS? Yikes! Wake up and smell the coffee!
I suffer your loopy ideas ... allow me mine, (I'm switching to tea.)
