How Dems Can Win

Uncle Joe Biden has explained why he wants to be president — so Trump isn’t ... hardly a winning strategy. The other Democrats are falling all over each other to give away taxpayer money by the boatload ... which would sink us far further into debt ...  from which we likely could not possibly recover ... doubling down on globalism, open borders, free college, free healthcare ... even for illegal aliens, a wealth tax, capitulation to China and the EU on trade, $1,000 per month to everyone, and on and on. None of these generous voter bribes ultimately are winning strategies.

But I think I do know what might work to defeat Trump at the polls. To win, one personable Democrat need only do the following:

- Forget all the giveaways. Agree to carry on with every policy and action that Trump has taken so far ... on trade, on tax cuts, on rebuilding our military, on regulation reductions, on avoiding foreign entanglements, on Israel, on asking our allies to step up to their responsibilities, on North Korea, on immigration reform, on global warming, on restoring US manufacturing, on Iran, etc. ... on everything Trump stands for.

- Sand off most of Trump’s annoying rough edges ... his insults, his womanizing, much of his Tweeting, his braggadocios, his exaggerations (aka,”lies”), his combative personality ... but keep his patriotism. And then better communicate to the American people ... like a statesman and not a TV reality-show personality.

Do all this, male or female Dem candidate, and and you can’t lose ... in fact, you might win all 50 states.

It must be some form of therapy for those who drink the kool aid -- repeating the so-called achievements of the would-be Emperor. Ignoring the fact that North Korea and Iran have become *worse* threats since 2016. Pretending that the "immigration policy" has made America safer. That rolling back EPA safety standards and utterly failing at every opportunity for negotiation with allies is good for America. How can you ignore the fact that whenever he speaks without a teleprompter, he sounds like a total nitwit?

If Trump keeps up the madness, The Dems really don't need to change at all, because Trump's core is imploding by the day. Soon, it will just be a small circle of MAGA-hatted, crazy-assed gun enthusiasts looking for something to shoot at.

Again, you sound like a CNN host ... you say a lot of “what” but not a lot of “why.” To tackle one of your on-high pronouncements ... the current head of NATO, Stoltenberg from Norway, lauds Trump for how he has stiffened the spine of this alliance. And the contests are not over with Iran and NKorea ... but the path we had been on with both was definitely not a winner. At least now we have a chance. To me that is preferable. And about his style, I think that, in the above post, I suggested that a more statesman-like Trump clone would be a Democrat winner.

It would be hard to sustain all of Trump's policies. Most of them are two-page cancellations of existing policies, signed and displayed by DJT. Some, like Jared's Israeli/Palestinian business plan just kind of flopped. Other promises just never happened even when Congress was in a GOP majority. And what happened to promises to eliminate the carried interest loophole, to enact term limits, to provide a better universal health plan, to not play golf all the time?
