Is the single reason that people adamantly refuse to listen to arguments from their political opposites because their spoon-fed prejudices might be polluted by logic and uncomfortable information?
Afterthought: You can be pretty sure you are right when your political opponent starts attacking you ... and not your arguments. However this is not changing minds ... as that requires reciprocal honesty ... a most rare commodity.
