Drug Prices

President Trump has decried the fact that drugs from American pharmaceutical companies are “vastly cheaper” outside of our country ... and he has asked them to reduce drug prices here ... which, without the current profit, would make it difficult to invest in the discovery of new disease cures.

My suggestion: rather than punish our drug companies with such pricing strictures ... and keep them from earning a fair return on their huge R&D investments ... why can’t we ask them to RAISE prices in foreign countries to make them equivalent to somewhat lower prices here ... still giving them then a fair return on their research investments? (And making those other countries help pay for our innovations.)
