Sleezebag

The FBI, because it is such a powerful organization, needs to be incorruptible. Unfortunately, starting with J. Edgar Hoover, this group has continually been slimed by corruption disclosures ... including their decades-long game of footsie with Whitey Bulger here in Boston. Just this week a number of disclosures further sullied James Comey, the FBI director under Obama. Putting all we know about this sleezebag who, along with his buddy, Robert Mueller (another former FBI director), it is obvious that they have made it their sacred duty to take down Donald Trump as president.

I realize that "sleezebag" is a strong condemnation ... but somehow I think it may be too mild an expletive. Let me review why this is so:

- Comey drafted a statement exonerating Hillary Clinton in the FBI's investigation of Hillary's e-mail scandal months before Hillary and many of other key witnesses were interviewed ... see: CNN Story.

- Comey's FBI granted immunity to all of Hillary's aides and associates who were subsequently interviewed in this case, protecting them from prosecution.  Their testimonies  (including Hillary's of the July 4th weekend) were not recorded ... see: Washington Examiner Story.

- On July 5th last year, right after Hillary's FBI "interview", Comey, in his pre-concluded statement, exonerated Hillary and her outlaw gang from violating the Espionage Act, saying that though she was "extremely careless", she did not "intend" to break the law ... see: Comey's FBI Statement.

- As can be seen by many of Comey's statements and even his Congressional testimony, Comey is often fast and loose with the facts, particularly his statements about Hillary's e-mails discovered on Anthony Weiner's computer last October. He was only off by about four orders of magnitude ... see: Comey, I shrunk the Fibs.

- After some self-serving revelations about his interchanges with a now President Trump and after his firing by the president, Comey revealed that he had (illegally) leaked, through a friend, his recollections of his conversations with Trump ... some he contended involved ostensibly obstruction of justice ... hoping that this would cause a special prosecutor to be appointed which, in fact, happened ... see:  The Blaze Story. He got his wish when his buddy Mueller was named to this post.

- Speaking of Comey's firing, one cannot conclude this indictment without referring to the DOJ Deputy Director's memo outlining to Trump the reasons to oust Comey ... see: .NY Times Symopsis.

To me, all this continued corruption inside the FBI is quite depressing and very dangerous.
