My first McDonalds burger in 1962 cost 19 cents. We underpaid G.I.s would pile into a car and go off-base to the local Mickee Dees. For a buck we could get 4 burgers (twice the size of today's offerings) and a bag of fries. JFK was president. The world seemed simpler, despite the cold war.
