“Halfway to the stars.”
I just heard Tony Bennett sing “I left my heart in San Francisco” and am saddened by what has happened to that once-fabulous magical city … the Embarcadero, the cable cars, Irish coffee at Sam’s, Fisherman’s Warf, abalone steaks at Alioto’s restaurant, Muir Woods, the Golden Gate, Top of the Hop, Alcatraz, San Ramos fizzes, the ferry to Tiburon, Coit Tower, Land’s End … and on and on and on.
Why have those politician assholes turned that once gem of a city into dreck? Why? Why does anyone feel they can destroy our superlatives? Are they stupid, malicious or just plain incompetent?
STAND UP FOR SAN FRANCISCO!
