Encounters encompass two distinct kinds of events: apprehensions, in which migrants are taken into custody in the United States – at least temporarily – to await adjudication, and expulsions, in which migrants are immediately expelled to their home country or last country of transit without being held in U.S. custody.
it sounds like the number of encounters is an improvement over the previous administration's numbers. If it is simply more people reaching the Mexican border without successfully getting across, how is that something that the POTUS can be responsible for? Seems that the majority of people at the border are not Mexicans. Maybe we need to work with Mexico at their southern border. Isn't Kamala supposed to be handling that?
Kamala is now busy being artificially intelligent.
