Shame on me!

We all remember that last trillion dollar “infrastructure” bill that Congress passed during Barack Obama’s 2010 honeymoon … in which he finally confessed that its “shovel ready” jobs were not so shovel ready. The money, as it turned out, went to Democrat operations around the country to further their hold on their constituents.

Now, some Republicans, under the leadership of Mitch McConnell are traipsing down this same primrose path for an equivalent pot of honey for liberal causes … such as free charging stations for electric vehicles. Yes, I said “free!” Are we also going to supply free gas to all our gas guzzlers? Can we make Elon Musk even more wealthy than he already is? 

What if this “green” mania is wrong … which I certainly believe it is … are drivers going to be willing to spend at least 1 1/2 hours for a “fill-up” as opposed to 5 minutes?   Is there any way we can back out of such a huge boondoggle … a likely well over $100 billion bet on an uncertainty.

I, for one, have seen this movie before … and I am turned off by the current trailer being played.

Afterward: And do people, who can afford a $100,000 set of wheels, need tax rebates and free fill-ups?
