The Trump Organization and its CFO have been indicted (but not Trump himself) in New York State for giving perks … in this case, free housing … to certain employees in order to avoid income taxes. 

Non-taxable employment perks exist everywhere:

- When I was an officer at the Bank of New York many years ago, I got a tax-free catered lunch every workday.

- Many companies give key employees tax-free loans to buy company stock or even homes (Elizabeth Warren).

- Most military get tax-free room and board, uniforms and subsidized shopping at the commissary.

- Many in Congress live out of their offices tax-free to start out.

- Many federal, state and local governments look the other way when their pols take tax-free government-paid-for junkets to resort locales during vacation breaks.

- Many companies offer free education, free uniforms, free parking, free meals, free tax services, free medical and dental insurance, free cars, etc. … all tax free

- The list goes on.

Indicating Trump people for this offense is nothing but vindictive political theater … prosecutorial overreach … and should be called out for same. Shame on NY DA Cyrus Vance Jr. on his way out the door.
