Fossil fuels (coal, oil, natural gas, lignite) were laid down in the Earth’s crust primarily during the 60 million year Carboniferous Period ending around 300 million years ago. That’s a very, very long time span. Does anyone honestly believe we are due to run out of them anytime soon?
