Today’s Poser
Do you dear reader believe, like much of the establishment media, that President Trump is as feeble minded as Uncle Joe Biden? (OK, the polite term is having a cognitive deficiency.)
Read Trump's tweets, listen to his rambling, uninformed speeches. "I know more about _______(fill in the blank) than anybody!" He's not feeble-minded so much as pathologically narcissistic. And I think dangerously so. Loyalty to him is more important than the rule of Law.
Biden (not my choice to run against Trump) has always been a gaffer, and not the best at thinking on his feet. But he is smart enough to surround himself with capable people who will advise him to do the right thing. And he will listen to them. He is not feeble-minded, either.
MSNBC was asserting this morning that Trump was as impaired as Biden because he mispronounced a few words off of his Teleprompter. To me, this is a real stretch ... as is your assessment.
Do you actually think, as he asserts, that he knows more than ANYONE about pandemics, military strategy, monetary policy, climate change, drones, ISIS, etc.? (His excuse for not reading briefings)
Do this statements (March 6) sound like someone who should be in charge? "I like this stuff. I really get it. People are surprised that I understand it… Every one of these doctors said, ‘How do you know so much about this?’ Maybe I have a natural ability. Maybe I should have done that instead of running for president.” And, "When I was hearing the amount of people that died with the flu, I was shocked to hear it… I would have said, ‘Does anybody die of the flu?’ I didn't know people died from the flu.”
They are both aged men as are you two... and me. The new age style wants rapid-fire responses to everything but will trap any word jumble or memory lapse, even playing one second loops of the most egregious gaffs for months thereafter. If you take several seconds to collect your thoughts, you are impaired. Woe to you if you say "Great question! Give me your email and I'll get back to you tomorrow." There is only NOW.
Despite the lure of a Trump-Biden cage match, I want a neutral web location to post 2000 word commentaries by each of the candidates to twenty pre-established policy questions over a period of say twenty weeks. No live TV anything. Imagine...
Chill, most voters would rather be stabbed in the eye with an ice pick than to read 2000 words. I want the cage match, I think sleepy Joe would kick Trump's fat ass, verbally and, if necessary, in a street brawl. Imagine ...a duel to the death with .45 Glock pistols.
