So a comment on a blogsite by an unknown (CelticCouple) with no data on their link says "I remember reading years ago..." which references no specific document or even source gets elevated into status as a Quotable Quote even though no research of those key words has no attribution to that man. That's good enough for me...
Attributed to who? There is no where or when or what media for the quote. The commenter identified as CelticCouple has a null identity: https://www.blogger.com/profile/06435629455810446239
"Both"? Who? Are you projecting my views on my wife? She has tuned out the news entirely, resorting to 1940-1960 movies and TV, fiction novels, Jeopardy, and Judge Judy.
Sure i read the Globe, my hometown paper. Also the NYT, WAPO, and the WSJ. And Breitbart, FoxNews, InfoWars, Coulter, Carr, and Politico. And the Economist, Engadget, Wired, and the Guardian. ReplyDeleteIt wasn't in his writings. It was a response to a reporter's question as re what he thought about Ameruca. See comments under latest Diplomad 2.0.

DeleteFake Quote.
DeleteI'm puzzled ... why would they make this up? This is the kind of attribution we get in the NYT every day.
DeleteSo why is this unattributed quote now your featured post? If you say it often enough, with enough conviction, it will NOT become true.
ReplyDeleteI heard that Abraham Lincoln once said "The problem with quotes found on the internet is that they are often not true."
ReplyDeleteThe quote is, in fact, attributed. It is the chain of evidence that is in question.

ReplyDeleteThe ALLEDGED quote is attributed. I grant that.
ReplyDeleteAnd yet you both eat what the Globe feeds you without a taster?
