i cannot locate that quote or any part of that quote attributed to anyone. Sources please.
It wasn't in his writings. It was a response to a reporter's question as re what he thought about Ameruca. See comments under latest Diplomad 2.0.
So a comment on a blogsite by an unknown (CelticCouple) with no data on their link says "I remember reading years ago..." which references no specific document or even source gets elevated into status as a Quotable Quote even though no research of those key words has no attribution to that man. That's good enough for me...
Fake Quote.
I'm puzzled ... why would they make this up? This is the kind of attribution we get in the NYT every day.
So why is this unattributed quote now your featured post? If you say it often enough, with enough conviction, it will NOT become true.
I heard that Abraham Lincoln once said "The problem with quotes found on the internet is that they are often not true."
The quote is, in fact, attributed. It is the chain of evidence that is in question.

The ALLEDGED quote is attributed. I grant that.
And yet you both eat what the Globe feeds you without a taster?
"Both"? Who? Are you projecting my views on my wife? She has tuned out the news entirely, resorting to 1940-1960 movies and TV, fiction novels, Jeopardy, and Judge Judy.
The Boston Globe has collapsed into a set of postings from NYT, WaPo, Reuters, AP, and some local news stories.

Sure i read the Globe, my hometown paper. Also the NYT, WAPO, and the WSJ. And Breitbart, FoxNews, InfoWars, Coulter, Carr, and Politico. And the Economist, Engadget, Wired, and the Guardian. And BBC, Reason, the Atlantic, the Hill, and the Daily Beast, Drudge, Narativ, the Diplomad... and Fletchblog. What do yiu read?
Also RealClear with its great variety of top-drawer links daily. and drudge.
And Funny Times.
Because of my failing sight, I can not read newspapers or magazines ... only on-line stuff I can blow up on my IPad.
