Regarding the current political dust-up over Iran, President Obama and the Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu both are on the same page on one point ... and that is that neither of them feel that Iran can be trusted. Their difference however is a very bright line ... President Obama then does a 180 degree turn and says that he wants to cut a deal (but not a treaty which would have to be verified by the Senate) with Iran which will at best postpone Iran's acquisition of atomic weapons. But he then avows that Iran cannot deceive us on this matter ... a rationale that is so flimsy and convoluted as to require the folksy speaking style of the president to keep his audience from breaking into derisive laughter.
President Obama is a very flawed person ... but why he would trust someone who can't be trusted ... particularly when it involves the very survival of the Jewish nation ... is beyond even my feeble logical apparatus ... as it should be for every American.
Afterward: Actually I am loath to admit this, but I now believe the Iran's duplicitous Supreme Leader, Khamenei, is more trustworthy than our President of the United States.
