Yes, Obama advisors should be caned for not schooling him about the proper angle. I think it will be interpreted as perhaps awkward, but an obvious gesture of respect, not fealty.
At least he didn't refer to him as "Your Imperial Majesty" like Nixon did.
I want to Mr. Obama holding hands with the Saudi king like Dubya did.
