Like last night’s lunar eclipse, Donald J. Trump’s reign in American politics has been eclipsed by cold-blooded Democrat machine politics. Many of his candidate picks were defeated in the midterms … including Dr. Oz … by that that shadow of a man, John Fetterman.
Because of these losses, his presidential comeback now seems a political impossibility.
If Trump were a political realist, on November 15th at Mar-a-Largo, he would announce his choice for president in 2024 … someone to pick up and carry the America First flag … and then leave stage right … to be someday remembered for his many accomplishments in the history books.
He likely … and tragically … will not do this.
This would make his MAGA movement that much more perilous.
And the bad guys would win again.
Afterward: I’m not the only “Trump traitor” … see: Oh Nooo … He’s Back! … and John Hinderaker jumped ship before the midterms.
STAND UP FOR AMERICA FIRST!

2024: DeSantis/Lake vs. Newsom/?
Newsom/Cheney? Actually the Republicans need some international heft … with Pompeo?
I was thinking Cheney too. A conservative woman, savvy about the ways of Congress. Balances a liberal CA governor. Endorsed some Dems, and clearly is not a Trumpista. She might get assassinated by some of her Wyoming constituents. I wonder what her dad thinks about it.
Pompeo is too religious; he'd detract from the Dem ticket. Also too deeply rooted in the intelligence community, not Congress where he would be parked most of the time.
Anti-environmentalist. Negotiated the bizarro deal that required the Afghan government to release 5,000 imprisoned Taliban members. Besides, he lost 90 lbs so he has less heft. So, Pompeo on a ticket with Newsom: NO. It'd be like Trump choosing AOC for a running mate.
I meant Pompeo as a R … and was kidding about Cheney.
He and his people once tried to stop the constitutionally mandated electoral vote certification by violently overrunning the U.S. Capitol. If America lets him back, he will do worse. And America knows.
Are you sure you’re not Liz Cheney?
