Before I ask today’s Poser, let me say that, although I am not a religious person, I believe in religion ... in most cases ... particularly the Christian religion as being more sensible than most ... although the current Pope has done a lot to diminish the value of the Catholic brand.
Now some further table setting. Generally Christianity does not attribute souls to animals and, since I believe that man ... Homo sapiens ... is a descendent of earlier humanoid forms ... here comes to question ... at what point in our evolutionary sequence did the human race acquire our eternal souls?
Just asking ...
STAND UP FOR (MOST) RELIGIONS!

Now you are getting to the heart of the debate between those who believe in the Bible with faith, in the Word of God, and those who espouse "evolution" and natural selection vs. those who see Intelligent Design in the multitude of things on the earth and beyong, animal, mineral, vegetable. You have uncovered one of the big discrepencies between the two. Go learn Grasshopper!
I have written before that the reconciliation between the Darwinites and the intelligent design proponents is that life on Earth likely started in many forms in the primordial soup all within a few millenniae. “Animals did not evolve from plants ... nor mammals from reptiles.”
