Since President Trump had signed on as an amicus supporter to the Texas lawsuit challenging this past election, how come HE didn’t have standing in the Supreme Court deliberations? Very strange, dear reader! Very strange indeed!

As I understand it, simply filing an amicus does not give one standing.
I think the more interesting question is -- why didn't Trump join as a party to the lawsuit, in which case he would have had standing.
Perhaps to give Obama (and Valerie) time to completely show their hand?
