I don't believe that we have had visitors from outer space ... and have a simple explanation for many UFO sightings ... and it doesn't involve weather balloons or meteors. Think about it ... what could cause a bright light in the sky that hovers motionless for a while ... then races off at a speed far beyond known aircraft rates? Analog: that cat laser teaser.
Imagine a very bright search light or laser beam reflecting off of low clouds, fog or even mist. Small quick movements of this ground-based light source would be greatly magnified in the sky ... matching many observed, even photographed, instances of "UFOs."
QED.
(Another less-likely possibility is St. Elmo's Fire or ball lightning ...)

Yes, I suppose it is credible that space aliens might come to Earth with the objective of enslaving (or eradicating) homo sapiens, and then stealing our natural resources. Good point.
