The time line is not the issue ... it was this boneheaded decision that is the issue. We knew what Assad was even back in Bush's time ... but, I suspect, his being a Shia Muslim and a friend of Iran, pushed this move.
Seems like you and a few other haters and monday morning quarterbacks are the only ones who are second-guessing it.
